Hopkinton-based EMC Corp. said increased demand for its high-end and middle-tier data storage products helped push second quarter revenue up 24 percent and boosted the quarter’s profit 108 percent to $426 million.
The quarter’s results came as the company increased spending on sales efforts, research and development and administration.
Restructuring and acquisition-related expenses for the quarter were $9.8 million compared to $33 million a year earlier.
The company’s operating income was $588 million compared to $261 million the prior year.
Revenue for the quarter was $4 billion.
