EMC Keeps Quarter Of Storage Software Market
EMC Corp. of Hopkinton remained the leader by far in the storage software market in the third quarter, according to Framingham-based research firm International Data Corp. (IDC).
IDC said total storage software revenues reached almost $3.5 billion in the quarter, up 9.7 percent from the same period last year and close to the highest level since the firm began tracking the figure.
EMC accounted for 24.5 percent of industry revenues for the quarter, with a total of $847 million. In the third quarter of 2010, the company had 24.4 percent of the market.
Symantec, IBM and NetApp accounted for 15.3 percent, 14 percent and 8.8 percent of the market, respectively.
