EMC Corp. of Hopkinton says its RSA division has discovered an “extremely sophisticated cyber attack” that has compromised information related to its SecurID authentication products.
The company said it is confident that the stolen information can’t be used alone to infiltrate customers who use the SecureID system, but it could be used as part of a broader attack.
EMC said it is working with authorities and customers to address the incident.
