By the end of the day, EMC Corp. will have closed two major acquisitions designed to boost the data-storage company’s position as an information-security vendor. The Hopkinton-based company this morning completed its $2.1 billion acquisition of RSA Security in Bedford, following approval by that company’s shareholders last Thursday. EMC also announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase privately held Network Intelligence in Westwood for $175 million. That deal is set to close by the end of the day. CEO Joseph Tucci says the acquisitions bolster EMC’s position in the growing information security market. EMC plans to fuse the companies to create a new information security division. RSA Security specializes in identity and access management, fraud protection and encryption products. Network Intelligence also specializes in data security.
