The EcoTarium in Worcester has hired a new director of institutional advancement, a senior management role for the 192-year-old science and nature museum.
Kerry Castorano, the new director, is responsible for expanding and providing leadership to the museum’s development and awareness efforts in support of the advancement of the EcoTarium’s mission. Castorano has more than 10 years experience working in nonprofit organizations. Her development experience includes grant writing, fundraising, special events, and corporate and foundation relations.
She previously oversaw grant writing for The Community Group in Lawrence, and was corporate and foundations relations manager for The Trustees of Reservations in Beverly, and development director at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard.
The Groton resident is a former member of the U.S. World Cup fencing team and an individual and 2-time team NCAA fencing champion at the University of Notre Dame.
