Westborough-based eClinicalWorks will enter the international market after securing Specsavers as its first United Kingdom customer in a deal that brings overall international business for the company to $100 million for the year.
Specsavers will use the eClinicalWorks cloud-based platform to hold customers’ optical records in a process that will streamline operations, the company said in a release. eClinicalWorks will open a new London office to go along with the expansion into the United Kingdom.
The privately-held company recently announced a $50-million expansion of its headquarters in Westborough that will have 1,000 new employees added over the next three years. The company purchased an office property at 900 West Park Drive for $21.2 million in September. eClinicalWorks also opened an office in Austin, Texas in September 2015 to focus on serving customers in surrounding areas.
The company has 4,300 employees around the world with offices in California, New York, Illinois and Georgia.
