Westborough-based eClinicalWorks, a health care IT company that designs electronic ambulatory clinical systems, said it has launched a $25 million effort to improve patients’ engagement with their doctors.
The company’s so-called Health & Online Wellness (Healow) business unit will launch its first product later this month – a free mobile app that will connect patients with their electronic medical records, receive medication reminders, schedule appointments, request prescription refills and send messages to their doctors.
“We are confident the tools delivered through Healow will be successful due to the foundation we have built with more than 220,000 medical providers and because its solutions bring together cutting edge-technology and a critical component – the medical provider,” CEO Girish Kumar Navani said in a statement.
The Healow app will be available for iOS and Android mobile platforms.
