Eastern Insurance Group LLC of Natick announced on Monday it has acquired the operating assets of Barr Insurance Agency, Inc., which is headquartered in Watertown.
The sale was effective May 1, and marks the 34th independent insurance agency acquisition Eastern has completed since 2002, according to the announcement.
Barr Insurance has been in business for more than 50 years.Â
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, nor were the futures of Barr’s current employees.
