E-mail has companies fired up
You're fired! That's what employees from 28 percent of companies surveyed by Proofpoint Inc. heard after violating e-mail policies. Of the 308 e-mail decision-makers surveyed, the study found that nearly 40 percent of companies with 20,000 employees or more hire staff to read and analyze e-mail content. Thirty-two percent of companies with 1,000 employees or more do the same. Respondents estimated that 20 percent of all e-mail sent from the office poses a legal, regulatory or financial risk.
