New orders for manufactured durable goods decreased in February by $3.6 billion to $210 billion, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
New orders for durable goods such as computers, automobiles and other long-lasting products, have decreased in two consecutive months. New orders decreased by 4.7 percent in January.
Shipments of manufactured durable goods in February decreased $6.0 billion, or 2.8 percent, to $210.5 billion. This followed a 2.3 percent January increase. Shipments of durable goods have declined in three of the last four months.
