Dunkin' Franchise Association Names New Members

The Bellingham-based Dunkin' Donuts Independent Franchise Owners Inc. , the largest association of Dunkin' Donuts franchise owners in the U.S., has introduced the members of its new board of directors.

Mark Dubinsky, DDIFO president, said the new board is "perfectly aligned to act in the long-term best interests of our members." The DDIFO and Canton-based Dunkin' Brands have been at odds over the corporation's expansion strategy.

Franchise attorney and former Dunkin' Brands executive Kevin McCarthy. McCarthy will serve as board chairman and director. Brendan Van Deventer will serve as vice chairman. He is the managing partner of a Rhode Island-based investment banking firm. Joseph Kimball Jr., board treasurer, is a CPA who works with Dunkin' Donuts franchisees. James Coen, clerk and director, is the executive director of the New England Franchise Association. Director Deborah Blondin is a senior vice president of Sovereign Business Capital's franchise division.
