A five-story brick self-storage building in downtown Worcester has sold for just over $1.8 million.
The building at 3 Chestnut St. is one of two Massachusetts locations of the chain Value Store It, which also has 17 locations in and around Miami. It was previously part of the CubeSmart chain.
Though the advertisement has since been covered over, a sign painted onto the brick of the building's south side told of its longtime role as a storage building. "Worcester Storage Co., member, Allied Van Lines," it said.
The buyer is a limited liability corporation registered to an address shared by Skypoint Aviation Capital of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The seller is Gerald Sprayregen of Miami, who bought the property for nearly an identical amount in 2016.
The sale closed Sept. 23.
The property was most recently assessed by the City of Worcester at just under $1.8 million.
