Dover Sales Hurdle Record At Georgia Store

Littleton-based equestrian supply company Dover Saddlery saw record sales at the opening of its new store in Alpharetta, Ga.
The store was opened by Dover Saddlery Retail Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dover Saddlery. The store opened over the weekend. The company said that even it was surprised by the success over the weekend "especially considering the retailing climate."
In addition to equestrian products, the Alpharetta store offers custom boot and coat fitting as well as personalized and monogrammed horse clothing.
Dover was founded in 1975 in Wellesley. It has 11 retail stores on the East Coast and in Texas and has operations in the United Kingdom and Canada.
