Littleton-based Dover Saddlery Retail Inc. (Nasdaq: DOVER) will continue its nationwide expansion when it opens a new retail store in Wellington, Fla. this fall, the company announced.
Like other Dover stores, the new Florida location will offer English riding apparel, tack and hourse care supplies from leading equestrian brands, as well as in-store fittings and demonstration saddles for test rides.
“This very large store is ideally located to suit the needs of the competitive rider who is based in Wellington, either for the winter season or all year round,” Dover CEO Stephen L. Day said in a statement.
Dover, which sells its products online as well as in stores, has opened several new stores in the last couple of years. Its first Florida location in Winter Park opened in October 2013. The company has also opened stores in Austin and Houston in Texas, Cincinnati, and Charlotte, N.C., since the summer of 2013.
In a second-quarter earnings report released last month, Dover cited the performance of its brick-and-mortar stores as the main driver in a 6.2-percent revenue jump; the company generated $24.4 million in sales, compared with $22.9 million a year earlier.
