A Chicago-based hotel management and investment firm has bought its third MetroWest hotel, buying the 223-bed Double Tree by Hilton in Westborough, next to the junction of routes 9 and 495.
Ultima Hospitality announced the purchase Thursday. The acquisition gives the company three of the largest hotels in Central Massachusetts. It already owns the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center and Courtyard by Marriott, in Marlborough. Combined, those three hotels have 800 guest rooms.
In addition, Ultima recently bought the Sheraton Needham Hotel.
The company said it’s bullish on the region.
"Westborough and the surrounding areas have reached a critical mass of large corporate tenants that have recently made sizable investments in the area,” said Nir Liebling, chief investment officer of Ultima, in a statement.
Ultima said the Westborough hotel recently completed a renovation of its public areas and meeting space. Ultima said it plans to renovate the guest rooms.
