Residents and businesses that could be impacted by construction along a 7.8-mile stretch of Route 9 this summer can now check for project updates on a new web site launched by the state.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has launched the web site to provide updates about construction and possible delays and closures along the almost 8-mile stretch from Walnut Street in Natick to the Framingham-Southborough line.
The $12.5 million project is being paid for with federal stimulus funds and will be primarily focused on resurfacing the roads and improving some ramps and signage. The first phase of the work will occur this summer and will be complete by November. The entire project is expected to be done by June 2011.
Beginning this week some shoulders along the road will be closed as needed.
