Three Massachusetts military facilities, including Natick Soldier Systems Center labs will receive $10.8 million for upgrades.
The funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense and is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Natick facility is expected to receive $2.1 million for various upgrades.
Also receiving funding were MTA Camp Edwards in Bourne and the Dorchester Field Maintenance Facility in Boston.
In announcing the funding, U.S. Sens. Edward M. Kennedy and John F. Kerry, said the improvements would make the facilities state-of-the-art, create jobs and “strengthen the region’s military technology prowess.”
