Nordstrom's, the high-end department store, plans to open its off-price store, Nordstrom Rack, at Shoppers World on Route 9 in Framingham.
The discount chain of stores offers clothing and accessories at 30 to 70 percent off the prices it charged at its flagship department stores or online. It will be a 40,159-square-foot store and is scheduled to open in the spring of 2010.
"We are fortunate to have a lot of great customers in the Boston market and we look forward to serving them with a second Nordstrom Rack at Shoppers World," said Scott Meden, president of the discount store chain, in a prepared statement. "The center has a wide range of retailers and is an exceptional location."
It will be second Nordstrom Rack in the Boston area. The first is at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers. There are also three Nordstrom's department stores in the Boston area: at the Natick Collection, the Burlington Mall and the South Shore Plaza in Braintree.
The store will join Kohl's, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Old Navy, A.C. Moore and others at the MetroWest shopping center.
Shoppers World is owned by Macquarie DDR Trust Inc., a joint venture between Macquarie DDR Trust and Developers Diversified Realty Corp. In April, Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP announced that it had been retained by Macquarie to sell a 52-property portfolio, including Shoppers World. The entire portfolio is valued at $1.9 billion.
