Diem Cannabis plans to open its new retail location in Worcester by December and hire between 25 and 30 employees after receiving a provisional license from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission.
The Oregon-based company can now move forward with its location at 74 Grafton Street, having already secured a host community agreement for the site. The provisional license allows the company to begin work to open the store, including architectural review and registering employees as marijuana agents through the commission.
With projected annual revenues of up to $10 million, Diem Cannabis says it could contribute $1.7 million a year to the Massachusetts state budget, and approximately $300,000 to the City of Worcester.
According to the provisional license, the company has other applications in for cultivation and product manufacturing in Orange, as well as an already provisionally licensed location in South Deerfield.
