The clock is ticking toward a first-quarter tentative deadline on the stalled Plaza Mayor development project, but the group in charge has given no indication of progress.
The topic of the long-dormant housing and retail development came up at Thursday’s Hartford Redevelopment Agency meeting, whereMark McGovern, acting director of the city’s Development Services, said developers haven’t come up with financing or the Planning & Zoning approval they still need for the work at the intersection of Park and Main streets.
While McGovern said that the city has not issued a firm deadline to Plaza Mayor developer Solaris, he did state at the Hartford Redevelopment Agency’s November meeting that there is a likelihood that if Solaris hadn’t reached two necessary elements – city planning approval and financing — by the end of the first quarter, the city may look at other options for the site.
