A Townsend affordable housing complex seven years in planning is celebrating a groundbreaking today.
The “Townsend Woods” complex is at 66 Dudley Road adjacent to the Atwood Acres complex, and like Atwood, is for low-income senior citizens.
The project’s developer is RCAP Solutions of Gardner, which also developed Atwood Acres 21 years ago. The $6.5 million, three-story, 34,000-square-foot Townsend Woods project’s general contractor is Putnam, Conn.-based Barr Inc. It was designed by Studio One Inc. of Springfield.
Barr and Studio One also worked together on the Senior Living at Prouty complex in Spencer.
