Design Center West, a furniture and decor store, has moved into Marlborough's Solomon Pond Mall after 40 years in Framingham.
The 6,100-square-foot store has retail service for bedroom, dining, living room and outdoor furniture, accent pieces, and lighting and window treatments, and a wholesale interior design center. Its brands include Jaymar, Hunter Douglas, Wolf Home Products, Magnusson Home and others.
Store owner and founder Robin Boyce said she was looking for a new location when Solomon Pond Mall approached her with a possible location in the former Limited storefront.
"The traffic is amazing," Boyce said in an interview Thursday.
Design Center West's opening in late June joins three other recently renovated shops at the mall: the teen shoe and accessories retailer Journeys, teen clothing retailer Hollister and restaurant Arby's. Design Center West is located on the mall's lower level next to Forever 21 and across from JCPenney.
Design Center West opened in 1977 at Shoppers World in Framingham and had a few other locations in town over the years, including at Trolley Square, Boyce said. At one point, there were two locations, but Boyce is back to a single spot.
"You can't clone yourself, no matter how hard you try," she said.
