As long as current plans stay on track, D’Errico’s Market in Worcester will expand out of Worcester and into Leominster this summer, Owner Rodrigo DeOliveira said on Thursday.
DeOliveira identified himself as the Paxton resident who purchased the shopping plaza at 1123 Central St. in Leominster last August, for just under $2.4 million. The plaza, where the third D’Errico’s will set up shop, also includes a Dippin' Donuts, hair salon Cosmetic Experiences and day spa The Claw Shop.
“We're doing everything we can to expand,” DeOliveira said. “We feel the brand warrants more than one location and we're ... happy and very, very humbled that during this pandemic, we're able to thrive.”
DeOliveira, who became steward to the 74-year-old market nearly five years ago after purchasing it from his father, said the company is already scouting a fourth location as well.
“We’re very happy and very honored to be able to have a business that the public felt was worth spending their hard earned money at during during such a hard time,” DeOlieveira said.
He hopes the new market, which will be centered around meats and proteins like the shop’s other two locations in Worcester, will open in June or July.
