Delaying retirement for first-choice colleges

The majority of American parents say they would put off retirement for at least two years if it would financially help their children attend their dream college, according to a survey by savingforcollege.com.

Of the parents surveyed, 80 percent said they would work another two years to pay for a top-choice school.

Nine percent of respondents said they would direct their child to a less expensive school and six percent said they would rather take on more debt to pay for college instead of delaying retirement.
