December Trade Gap Narrows On Falling Prices, Demand

The country’s trade deficit fell to $39.9 billion in December, a six-year low, on decreased demand for American-made products overseas and decreased demand for foreign products here, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The deficit was $41.6 billion in November.

December exports totaled $133.8 billion. The month’s imports were $173.7 billion.
