DECD exec departs for Bay State
An official from the state Department of Economic and Community Development is headed north for a position in Worcester, Mass. Alexander "Oley" Carpp, currently executive director of the DECD's Office for Strategic Competitiveness, has accepted a job to lead a private economic development group known as Choose Worcester. Prior to joining the DECD, Carpp was economic development director for the Town of Suffield and owned a business called Compucorp Inc. He is expected to begin working for the agency on Aug. 1 or Sept. 1.
