Dean College in Franklin and the owners of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution are creating a program that will give students access to the team’s executives and operations as part of their education.
The college and The Kraft Sports Group, which owns the two teams, last week announced the formation of The Center for Business, Entertainment and Sport Management, which will offer students insight from team executives. The Kraft group said this enhances a relationship the two organizations launched in 2009. Patriots and Revolution executives will participate with members of the Dean faculty in classroom activities. This will cover programs that include: arts and entertainment management, business, media studies and communications, security management, sport management and sports and fitness studies.
“We are honored to be so closely tied with organizations as successful and recognizable as the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution,” college president Paula M. Rooney said. “From venue management and coaching to marketing and business, the opportunity for our students to learn from the leaders of such respected enterprises is exciting for our students.”
The arrangement also includes student internships. Kraft Sports Group’s staff will provide insight and analysis on their areas of expertise both on the Dean campus and at the teams’ headquarters at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
