Partners HealthCare and Fallon Community Health Plan (FCHP) announced an agreement that will give FCHP members full access to Partners HealthCare hospitals and their physicians.
Effective Jan. 1, FCHP members enrolled in the plan’s “Select Care” product have unrestricted access to Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women’s hospitals.
Although the FCHP network already included Partners physicians and hospitals, which are in the eastern region of the state, members could previously only visit Massachusetts General and Brigham and Women for a second opinion or specialty procedure.
Executives of both entities issued a statement in which they said the partnership reflects a new era in which health plans and providers need to work together to make care more affordable and accessible.
