DCU Improvements Underway

A multi-year renovation project at the DCU Center has begun, the City of Worcester and stadium operator SMG say.

The capital improvements will upgrade the facility to meet current arena standards. The first phase, to be completed between now and Sept. 1, will focus on electrical service and the construction of a new ice plant. The current plant has been part of the facility since it was first built 27 years ago.

The construction will take place over three to four summers to minimize the impact on programming at the center. Future phases are expected to add suites and club seats, improve restrooms, concession areas and accessibility and provide energy savings and technological improvements.
