The company will also continue to run the food and beverages services. And it has also reached agreement with the city to manage the public skating rink on Worcester’s downtown common for a second consecutive year.
The DCU Center recently underwent an expansion and renovation at a cost of $31.5 million. The arena was closed from May to early October as itunderwent infrastructure improvementsthat included a new façade, digital marquee, a landscaped promenade and entrance, redesigned box office pavilion, an expanded concourse, four luxury event suites, indoor/outdoor retail space and a new concourse-level club area.
“The DCU Center is a top performer in the industry, posting record numbers for the month of October,” said,” Wes Westley, president and CEO of SMG, said in a statement. “The partnership between the management staff at the venue and the city is a success story that we know will continue for many years to come.”
