DBR Group in Framingham acquired by Virginia firm

Framingham employee benefit and consulting firm DBR Group has been acquired by a Virginia insurance company. 

Richmond-based The Hilb Group (THG) announced the purchase Tuesday, but the transaction became effective Oct. 1, the firm said.

Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed. 

DBR will continue to operate out of Framingham under direction of the company’s founders, including Paul Desrosiers, who is one of three principals in DBR.

“Joining THG’s team will allow our clients to access a wider range of products and services to address their emerging and evolving needs,” Desrosiers said in a press release. “We are excited to join THG and view this move as an excellent opportunity to build on DBR’s success over the last 14 years.”
