Dayton Steel taps AXIS for software solutions

Dayton Steel Service will deploy software developed by AXIS Computer Systems in Marlboro as the company's new generation business system, expanding AXIS' customer base in the metals industry.

The new system will be used at Dayton Steel Service's locations in Dayton, OH, and Rome, GA.  Dayton, a service center subsidiary of The Thompson Companies, maintains an inventory of flat rolled steel products for customers requiring cold rolled, cold rolled one pass, hot rolled pickled and oiled, hot dipped galvanized and galvanealled, electro-galvanized, aluminized, terne, and stainless products.

"We selected the AXIS ERP solution over other service  center management systems we evaluated because of its proven metals industry functionality, as well as its flexibility and ease of management," said Bill Proulx, Thompson Companies corporate controller.
