Movers and Shakers
Gov. Deval Patrick has appointed Dr. KERRI OSTERHAUS, an obstetrics and gynecology physician based at Women's Health of Central Mass., to the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees.
CLARENCE PLANT, property administrator at Worcester Polytechnic Institute has been appointed to the Governor's Advisory Council on Veterans' Services. Plant is a Worcester resident and active in the city community. Among the organizations he has been a member of is the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. Plant has also been appointed to the newly-formed Commonwealth National Bank Advisory Board.
Worcester Restaurant Group, the owners of The Sole Proprietor, One Eleven Chop House and VIA have promoted KEVIN HUNT to chief financial officer. Hunt, who began working for The Sole Proprietor in 1990 was most recently the general manager at VIA, BRIAN CULLINA has been promoted to general manager. He was most recently a manager at VIA. MARK HAWLEY has been named executive chef at VIA. Hawley is the former head line chef at 111 Chop House and executive chef at The Flying Rhino, both restaurants in Worcester. RICO GIOVANELLO has been named chef de cuisine at VIA. Prior to joining the Worcester Restaurant Group, Giovanello worked in the office of the Worcester District Attorney, and owned his own restaurant, Enrico's Brick Oven Pizza in Sturbridge.
Dr. NAMRATA KRISHNAN has joined the division of renal medicine. She also joins the University of Massachusetts Medical School as assistant professor of medicine. Krishnan graduated from Lady Hardinge Medical College, University of Delhi in New Delhi, India and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut. Dr. MARTHA SACOTO has joined the UMass Memorial Medical Group and the pediatric primary care practice of Dr. Luis Garcia and Dr. William Woodruff at 291 Lincoln St. in Worcester, an affiliate of UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center. Sacoto received her medical degree from the Health Science Center School of Medicine-State University of New York and completed her residency at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island. Dr. STEPHEN SUMMERS has joined the division of pulmonary, allergy and critical care medicine. A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Summers completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical System.

WILFRED BARD, founder and president of both the New England Dream Center in Worcester and Liberty Churches in Shrewsbury and Worcester; TIMOTHY HORAN, senior vice president of safety, health, environment and security for National Grid USA; JOY MCHUGH, children's author, pianist and retired teacher; CHRISTOPHER PROVO, founder Provo Financial Services; PETER ROWDEN, vice president of operations for Cytyc Corp.; and SARAH WILLIAMS owner of Treasure Hunt Farms.
Glickman Kovago & Co. announced that MICHAEL JACOBS has been made a partner. He has been with the company since 2003 and is responsible for developing a retail brokerage. He currently serves as the lead retail broker for Berkeley Investments' $563 million CitySquare Project.
JAMES DAVIDSON has been named vice president of ancillary and support services at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He has more than 20 years of healthcare experience and holds both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in health services administration.
