Q. How are you settling in at your new job?
A. I am settling in very nicely. My co-workers are very supportive and UniBank is a great place to work.

Q What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. The challenges I see are in gaining acceptance of new ideas and approaches to established procedures and programs.

Q. What is your favorite thing about Central Massachusetts?
A. I really enjoy the country feel of most Central Massachusetts towns.

Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
A. Having a successful career in the financial industry was definitely not on my mind when I graduated from high school. The last few years of school I was part of a retail management work study program and then once I graduated I decided to pursue a career in the music industry playing in a band professionally. Eventually because of my interest in technology I began training as a computer technician and LAN administrator. That understanding of technology is what led me to the financial industry and finally a career in compliance and security.

Q. How far is your commute to the office?
A. 10 minutes with very little traffic. That's definitely a perk.

Q. What could local and state governments do to make things better for your business?

A. I think it is important for local and state government agencies to appreciate and consider what the banks' regulatory requirements are under the federal agencies.

Q. What's the best way to keep your energy and motivation up when you're having a long day?

A. I feel that it is important to keep reminding yourself of your long-term professional and personal goals.

Q. Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
A. I enjoy home remodeling projects, fishing, gardening and playing the piano.

Q. What's on your to-do list for the next couple days?
A. I will be training, doing compliance research on a new product offering and scheduling one-on-one meetings with staff as part of a procedural evaluation.
