More than $19 million has been generated for the local economy after the filming of the Mark Wahlberg-Will Ferrell comedy "Daddy’s Home 2" in Framingham and other areas in the state last winter.
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) announced the financial boost to the economy, which included the hiring of more than 2,800 local workers and $10 million in wages.
The film, starring Ferrell, Wahlberg, Linda Cardelllini, Mel Gibson, John Cena and John Lithgow was filmed in 16 different communities in the state, including Framingham, Westford, Great Barrington, Lawrence, Concord and Plymouth.
Ferrell, Wahlberg and Lithgow were photographed shooting a scene in the woods off of Potter Road in Framingham in March.
The film was shot over 100 days in the state, with more than $6 million being spent on in-state businesses and industries, including supplies for production, lodging, transportation, food and hardware, the MPAA said.
According to the movie's studio Paramount Pictures, the film supported more than 350 local businesses in the state.
The film is scheduled for a Nov. 11 release.
