Cannabis company Curaleaf, headquartered in Wakefield, will add more than 50 new jobs at its recently expanded cultivation-and-manufacturing facility in Webster, the company announced on Tuesday.
At the same time, the company announced on Thursday it will partner with two local veterans organizations to help recruit applicants for the newly added positions. Those groups are Mass Fallen Heroes of Boston and Project New Hope Inc. in Worcester
“We are expanding our business at a time when many others are unfortunately closing in the commonwealth, and we welcome the opportunity to provide much needed jobs to those in the veteran community,” said Curaleaf CEO Joe Lusardi, in a press release. “This effort also demonstrates the great growth potential of the cannabis industry, in Massachusetts and beyond.”
The company presented donations to both organizations during a press event at its Oxford dispensary Thursday morning.
Curaleaf operates in 23 states, where it runs 92 dispensaries, 22 cultivation sites, and more than 30 processing sites.
