Framingham-based Cumberland Farms said it has agreed to sell 27 stores in the mid-Atlantic region to Petroleum Marketing Group (PMG) of Woodbridge, Va.
The stores, located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, are expected to continue operating under PMG, according to a statement from Cumberland Farms.
“As part of the agreement, driven by Cumberland Farms’ commitment to its employees, team members working in these stores will have the opportunity to continue employment with PMG, which plans to continue operating these locations as convenience stores,” Cumberland Farms said.
Meanwhile, Cumberland Farms will focus on its remaining stores in the New England, New York and Florida markets.
The companies, which are privately held, did not release terms of the deal.
