EG Group, whose American operations are based in Westborough, has entered into an agreement to acquire Connecticut-based Mercury Fuel Service, Inc.
The transaction will have nine company-operated convenience store locations from Mercury, all of which are located in Connecticut, be rebranded to Cumberland Farms. The transaction is expected to close in the next few months, according to a release from EG Group.
The price of the acquisition was not revealed by the companies.
The nine locations will join a network of 72 Cumberland Farms convenience stores in Connecticut, which employ nearly 1,500 people. EG Group has more than 1,700 stores across the country in 31 states.
