CSG Lands Grant To Green Real Estate Listings

Conservation Services Group, which is headquartered in Westborough, has received a two-year, $348,000 grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation to index the energy efficiency of homes that are for sale.

The non-profit energy conservation company will create an energy efficiency category within various Multiple Listing Services, which are inventories of homes that are for sale. It will give people searching for homes an idea of how energy efficient the home is before purchasing it and will encourage homeowners to make energy efficient improvements before their home is put on the market. CSG will pilot the program in New York with plans to expand.

The grant was part of $2.7 million in funding by the New York-based foundation for innovative energy efficiency initiatives nationwide.
