The popular Crust Bakeshop on Main Street will open a second location as soon as this fall, owner Alexis Kelleher confirmed on Wednesday.
The new location will be located in Chadwick Court, located at One West Boylston Street in Worcester.
“Aside from being just very excited and trying to get everything in place to be able to open smoothly, and we’re really excited to be on this side of town and to have parking,” Kelleher said.
Kelleher said while she had long thought about expanding the Crust brand, it wasn’t until Chadwick Court owners Jim and Mel Chacharone approached her about the space about a month ago that the idea came to fruition.
“We knew that this was the space for us to expand to, but can’t believe it’s happening this year,” Kelleher said.
The expansion also confirms, Kelleher said, that against the odds business has gone well for Crust, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
“When we heard that things were going to close down I thought that was going to be it for us,” Kelleher said.
She attributed their ongoing success in the face of pandemic-related challenges to her team, which she said were willing to do whatever it took to keep business going.
Kelleher also owns the North Main Provisions niche grocery store, which is located next to the first Crust location on Main Street.
