Credit union to give $3M back to members

Workers’ Credit Union, based in Fitchburg, has announced a $3 million give back in 2016 for its members after it met financial goals.

The 81,000-member credit union first launched the “GiveBack” program in 2014. This will the latest payout, with the previous $2.5 million having been distributed in February. That payout was a 25 percent increase over 2014, according to the credit union.

The credit union’s capital ratio of 12.1 percent exceeds regulatory standards, according to Workers’. The credit union was founded in 1914 and has assets of $1.15 billion with 16 offices.
