Fitchburg-based Workers’ Credit Union opened the doors to a branch office inside Acton Boxborough Regional High School Wednesday.
The branch serves the school’s staff and nearly 2,000 students, and includes a cash machine and access to special checking accounts for teenagers. Establishing a branch at the school was part of the School Business Partnership program at the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce.
The branch will also offer job shadowing and for-credit internships.
School and credit union officials said the branch would be convenient, and would also be a way for students “to enhance their financial literacy.”
