The overall Consumer Price Index increased 0.6 percent in April, according to the U.S. Department of Labor .
The April index was 3.9 percent higher than April 2007.
The Consumer Price Index for urban wage earners and clerical workers increased 0.7 percent in April. That’s 4.2 percent higher than in April 2007.
