Massachusetts is expanding efforts to provide COVID-19 tests to community health centers, the Gov. Charlie Baker Administration announced in a press release last week.
More than 7,000 test kits were scheduled to be distributed to seven towns and cities by Friday, April 24. The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Worcester was among those recipients.
The test kit distribution is part of a joint effort between Marlborough testing firm Quest Diagnostics and the Mass League of Community Health Centers, the governor’s office said in a press release. The distribution program prioritized health centers in areas of high need who also have the ability to increase their testing capacities.
Additional health centers are set to be added to the distribution list soon, although a timeframe and a list of recipients were not immediately available.
