Country Bank of Ware will open its new Worcester branch at 638 Chandler St. on July 18.
The branch is Country Bank’s sixth full-service location in Worcester County out of 14 total. The bank also has a business center at 315 Main St. in Worcester
“When this location became available, we knew it was a great fit to expand our presence in the city,” said President and CEO Paul Scully in a Tuesday press release.
The location is a former Bank of America branch.
The addition of the branch is part of a widening presence of the bank in Worcester. Country Bank is a founding sponsor partner of the Worcester Red Sox and works with the team to give to local charities through the WooStar program. The bank itself has donated a total of $209,675 and 183 volunteer hours to various nonprofits in Worcester over the last six months, according to its press release.
Country Bank was founded in 1850 and employs more than 200 people (full-time equivalent) and has more than $1.7 billion in assets as of March 31, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
