Country Bank, headquartered in Ware, is pairing up with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce to provide scholarship opportunities for small businesses to receive a one-year paid membership to the chamber, the two groups announced on Monday.
The scholarship program is intended to help those small businesses for whom paying yearly dues has become a hardship, or a prohibitive cost for entry, particularly because of the coronavirus pandemic.
For selected businesses, the scholarship will cover membership, as well as the opportunity to promote their company on the the chamber’s radio program with Hank Stoltz on WCRN. Selected businesses will be spotlighted on social media by both the chamber and Country Banks, according to a press release.
“As a long-time member of the chamber, our staff has had the opportunity to benefit from the valuable programs and events that the chamber offers; we feel this membership offers a vital connection to growing and supporting businesses within the city,” said Shelley Regin, senior vice president of marketing and public relations at Country Bank, in a statement.
Scholarship applications are available on the chamber’s website, www.worcesterchamber.org.
