The Westborough-based Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce has rebranded to Corridor 9/495 MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, effective as of Friday.
The rebrand and new logo are not due to a merger, but instead is an initiative to amplify engagement with members while attracting new businesses and entrepreneurs, according to a Friday press release from the chamber. The chamber works to provide local businesses with advocacy and networking, educational, and growth opportunities.
As the largest chamber of commerce in MetroWest, the chamber is composed of more than 500 member businesses and organizations from 67 towns and cities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Karen Chapman, president and CEO of the chamber, said in the release.
The chamber has gone through several name iterations from when it began as the Westborough/Northborough Chamber. It held its previous name, Corridor 9/495 Regional Chamber of Commerce, since 2018.
“While we are grounded in the Route 9/495 Region, the rebrand recognizes the Chamber’s 45 years of growth as a regional business organization and further strengthens the relationships with all the businesses we serve in the Metrowest region,” David Kaiser, chair of the chamber board and senior vice president for retail services of Shrewsbury-based Central One Federal Credit Union, said in the press release.
