Corporations cut the money they spent on training sharply from 2007 to 2008, according to the 2009 Corporate Learning Factbook.
The factbook was published by Bersin & Associates, a consultant for learning and talent management. It shows that the U.S. corporate training market shrunk from $58.5 billion to $56.2 billion over the year, the biggest decline in more than a decade.
Average training expenditures per employee fell 11 percent.
