Worcester County reported 155 new coronavirus cases between July 10 and Thursday, with 14 new fatalities, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The new cases reported this week increase the total to 12,738 since the beginning of the pandemic. Statewide, there were 1,684 new probable and confirmed coronavirus cases adding to the 112,589 total. Of those new cases, 1,133 were confirmed and 551 were probable coronavirus cases.
Fatalities in Worcester County between July 10 and Thursday bring the death toll to 968. July 11 and July 12 were the first two days since March that two consecutive days passed with no new deaths.


Statewide, there were 110 new confirmed coronavirus fatalities in the past week, bringing the total to 8,163 confirmed deaths.
The City of Worcester reported 5,351 total coronavirus cases, which is a 43-case increase from the previous week.
UMass Memorial Health Care and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester report 14 current coronavirus cases and three in intensive care — numbers that are a small fraction of those hospital networks’ case loads at the peak of the pandemic locally. To date, the hospitals have had 349 coronavirus deaths and 371 employees have tested positive.


MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Natick reports 22 suspected and confirmed cases, with one in the ICU, and Milford Regional Medical Center reports five suspected and confirmed cases. Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, Heywood Hospital in Gardner, and UMass Memorial HealthAlliance in Leominster report nine total suspected and confirmed cases, and two in intensive care.
Nationally, there have been more than 3.5 million confirmed cases and 138,362 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, there have been 13.8 million cases reported and 590,702 fatalities.Â
