Hudson-based Corero Network Security has become part of a partnership with an information services provider that will provide Corero clients with more protection against growing cyber threats, the company announced today.
Corero said it has entered into an agreement with the company, Neustar Inc. of Sterling, Va., to join its Strategic Alliance Program. Both companies provide protection against what are known as distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on information systems. While Corero provides protection against the full range of potential DDoS attacks, it said Neustar’s services would kick in when a customer needs “expert assistance in mitigating an attack or the attack bandwidth exceeds the capacity of an enterprise’s Internet connectivity.”
“The dilemma facing many organizations is whether to deploy an on-premise DDoS appliance or subscribe to a cloud provider for DDoS protection on-demand,” said Nirav Shah, Corero’s director of product management. “With a hybrid approach to DDoS protection, organizations can rest easy with a solution that combines the best of both worlds.”
